NOLVADEX-20 (Nolvadex-20 mg) is a medication used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is available in the form of a capsule and tablet.
NOLVADEX-20 (Nolvadex-20 mg) belongs to a group of drugs called Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs). It works by blocking the effects of estrogen in the body. Estrogen is a hormone that is responsible for controlling the growth and spread of certain types of breast cancer. When estrogen levels rise, the cells in the breast tissue become more sensitive to hormones, resulting in the growth of breast cancer cells in the body. NOLVADEX-20 (Nolvadex-20 mg) is taken orally with or without food.
NOLVADEX-20 (Nolvadex-20 mg) may also be used to treat other forms of breast cancer. It is available in several forms.

Nolvadex is a non-steroidal antiestrogen used to treat (ED) and to prevent androgenic alopecia in women. It may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Nolvadex is a synthetic non-steroidal antiestrogen derived from the female sex hormoneestradiol. Estrogen is a natural substance that may cause side effects when used in conjunction with certain medications.
Women who are experiencing symptoms of anovulatory (a woman's normal menstrual cycle) may be prescribed Nolvadex to prevent androgenic alopecia in women by reducing estrogen levels. Nolvadex works by blocking the action of estrogen in the body, which reduces the likelihood of ovulation.
The most common side effects are hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and vaginal discharge. These side effects usually go away within a few days.
In rare cases, Nolvadex may cause other serious side effects. Talk with your doctor about what to do if you experience these serious side effects.
You should not take Nolvadex if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in this medicine or any of the inactive ingredients in this medicine.
